South Etobicoke Passive House
This custom home project is for a fully passive home in the Toronto area.
We’re building it for a young family who decided they simply had to replace their 1920s home on a corner lot in their neighbourhood.

Wakefield Custom Home
This custom home project in Wakefield, Quebec is currently under construction.
The design is a custom client inspired concept which focuses on privacy from neighbors, natural light for all spaces, and abundant storage space because of slab on grade (no basement as the property is on bedrock).

Chelsea Custom Home based on an EkoBuilt home plan
This Quebec property is located within Quartier Meredith Subdivision, a brand new subdivision located just 20 minutes from downtown Ottawa (making it a highly popular community). Bordering on Gatineau Park also makes Chelsea a go-to neighbourhood for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
The design is a modified version of our Fiddlehead model with an attached garage as well as a basement.

Old Chelsea Custom Home

The open floorplan has a clever L-shape that accommodates bedrooms and tucks a screened in porch off the kitchen for warm weather dining.
This Quebec property is located near the Gatineau River in a peaceful section of Old Chelsea that is heavily treed.
The design is a custom client inspired concept. Inspiration has been taken from the client’s beautiful property — surrounded by white pines. A minimalistic approach to design has resulted in a modest three-bedroom home that still maintains comfortable spaces for the homeowners.

Round Lake Summer Camp-Style

Click to enlarge the working floorplan; a second version with cupboard space in the bedrooms also exists.
This project is taking place near Pembroke, Ontario on the north east shore of Round Lake.
The design is a custom client inspired vision of a summer camp. It has modern design and appeal, and we all know that smart modern design now starts with building passive!
The lakefront orientation is perfect for this home — living areas face the waterfront which is due south, a fundamental principle in passive house design.

Pakenham Coach House
We’re so pleased to share one of the first coach homes by EkoBuilt, this one in the village of Pakenham west of Ottawa.
This great little project was designed as a seasonal cottage or chalet for today, with plans for it to become the owner’s retirement residence within five to ten years.
The home owner selected our Nepean Point design and simply flipped the floorplan. Read the full story on our blog.
Urban Home in Central Ottawa
This new custom home is just a stone’s throw from the Governor General’s residence in central Ottawa. It’s a great example of flexibility in an urban setting. The home is situated on an unserviced laneway in a historic neighbourhood just east of the city’s downtown core.
The super narrow urban lot – just 34 feet – in combination with setbacks meant the resulting home is only 28 feet wide.
A three-storey layout provides a very comfortable 2,500 sq ft of total living space. Read the full story on our blog.
Sydenham Custom Home
Located just outside of Sydenham, Ontario near Frontenac Provincial Park, this custom home is a great showcase for what EkoBuilt can do.
Yes, we have our core home plans (which are often just a great starting point), but we can build to any style that suits you!
