Passive House Plan Pricing

Passive House is the world’s most energy efficient standard and it’s the one we promote — it really doesn’t cost much more at all to build to this standard and reap the benefits, including much lower running costs.

We do, however, also offer a Code Plus version of our house plans. Slightly less efficient than Passive, Code Plus is perfect for a small urban lot where every square inch matters and the thickness of the wall assembly needs to be downsized a bit.

Please note that all pricing is in Canadian dollars, although we work and ship our material kits across North America.

Pricing: Material costs have experienced incredible volatility in recent years. In late 2022 we updated the majority of cost analysis documents shared on this page. If a plan has a cost analysis that doesn’t say “NEW” next to it, it’s likely off by about 5%. Please reach out if you need a cost analysis for any of our house plans.

I have been reviewing your designs. Just curious where the numbers come from for cost of materials and installation. Also does this package include tubs hvac ect into the material cost.

    Thank you for your assistance

    • Thanks for your interest. Our primary goal is to provide affordable passive house and we can accomplish this by providing our passive house materials package, which includes all passive house certified components for a waterproof, weathertight shell. Not included is foundation, exterior finishes (steel roof/siding), mechanicals (plumbing/electrical/HVAC), or interior finishes.

That said we can provide you with a cost analysis for any of our designs or a design you provide to us. Ultimately we are a custom design/build firm – We look at optimizing any design to maximize solar energy on your property and design modifications are usually required as well. The cost of our design package is included with our weathertight material packages.

Please let us know if you would like a complete build cost, we would be happy to explore this further with you.
