We are paying close attention to the current guidelines and planning an opportunity for those interested in visiting the EkoModel Home for Saturday, July 25th. It is not possible to hold a traditional Open House under the current climate, as we know you will appreciate and understand.Read More
The Fiddlehead in its original form is quite a departure from the Sunflower, which we recently profiled. Coming in at a modest 1,330 square feet, it includes 2 + 1 bedrooms and 3 baths over two floors.
The ground floor has a nice open plan, while the bedrooms have their own space on the upper floor. This appeals to anyone attached to two-storey living or concerned about the home’s footprint and its size. A two-storey home is typically less costly to build.Read More

The Sunflower in its original form is a pretty sweet houseplan. Running at 1,852 square feet, it encompasses 4 + 1 bedrooms in a really neat layout that places the bedrooms/bonus rooms off to the sides of the central living area, like wings or petals. It’s a houseplan that creates some really interesting corners and sightlines for indoor/outdoor living.Read More

Located on a wooded property near a ski hill in Wakefield, Quebec is a custom home that we finished recently. The cost effective house design for this home began with a plan to fit three bedrooms into a modest but comfortable 1,200 ft.² bungalow with no basement (the home is on bedrock).
Typically, a three-bedroom bungalow would run closer to 1,500 ft.² or more, but we utilized some space saving techniques and landed with a great design that totals 1,216 ft.²Read More
We’ve all seen the writing on the wall, and it would appear that we’ll have to delay our late April Open House until the government approves gatherings of more than five people.
In the meantime, we’ll be working on our current projects, undertaking a revamp of the EkoBuilt website, continuing to enjoy our conversations with the folks who reach out daily to explore home building projects, posting a whole bunch of project updates with pictures to our blog, and trying to keep a positive outlook.
If you haven’t noticed it yet, we’ll draw your attention to the 2020 Free Shipping campaign that we’ve just launched. Check it out and stay well!
Although we like to be optimistic that things will be back to normal soon, we have already experienced a number of delays on projects because of the coronavirus.
We completely understand when projects hit delays beyond our control, but it’s also a good opportunity to take advantage of the lower interest rates and build now if you do have a build on the horizon.
In order to generate immediate sales we are offering free shipping throughout North America.Read More
In the spirit of information sharing, we like to sometimes focus on solutions for existing / older homes. This seems more relevant than ever as so many of us are staying home or otherwise conscious of pausing plans. This post focuses on healthy indoor air!
