Tiny House Floorplan: The Calendula

Looking for a tiny home that will be comfortable and sustainable, either as a secondary or primary dwelling? Check out the 624 sq ft Calendula!

We’ve showed the renders for our gorgeous tiny house floorplan, The Calendula, in a lakeside setting, but this sweet home can work just about anywhere. As a primary dwelling it’ll be totally happy in the country as a fully passive cabin or tiny home. As a secondary dwelling, it’s the perfect rental unit, guest suite, office space, studio with living space — whatever you need it to be.

A tiny home for your life

If you know EkoBuilt, you know that “tiny house” doesn’t mean a skinny dwelling on the back of a trailer. We have focused on livable, comfortable spaces that are simply much smaller than primary dwellings.

Our tiny home floorplans were developed in response to new building guidelines allowing secondary dwellings in many provinces and states. In our hometown, Ottawa, Canada, these are called coach homes. Elsewhere they are known variously as ADUs (accessory dwelling units), laneway suites, and garden suites.

Different in name, these are all the same beast: tiny homes that can be situated as a secondary dwelling on a property where a larger primary dwelling already resides.

We’re sharing brand new renders here of our Calendula floorplan, designed for small home living, but the space can easily be finished to fit different uses.

This floorplan runs to 624 square feet, and in addition to the open plan living, dining and kitchen space, it includes a comfortably sized bedroom and a fully kitted out bathroom, as well as a utility/laundry room.

I’m sorry but I can’t find a price for the Calendula tiny home. I am 73 years old and would have to have everything done professionally….I can maybe paint if that’s necessary.

  2. Patsy Heikkila

Does this home need to be built by a contractor or can we contract some of the stout and do some of the build ourselves? Thanks Patsy
