One of our larger house plans, The Madawaska, is a great family home. This one is Net Zero and yours could be too.
We talk a lot about how smart a smaller home can be, but sometimes more house is simply called for. A larger family or a mix of living and working from home.
The Madawaska is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home spread out over 2,583 sq ft. It could easily accommodate more bedrooms; the finished home we share here, that inspired the plan, includes an office, and a dedicated exercise room.
The ground floor is where most of the living space is featured, including a generous master bedroom and ensuite, a spacious laundry room / mudroom duo, and a comfortable open living / dining room.
The kitchen has some separation from the main living area and includes a breakfast room that features vaulted ceilings. The run of vaulted ceilings also takes in the home office off the breakfast nook, and the exercise room.
The dramatic vaulting results in a smaller upper storey which accommodates two bedrooms and a shared bathroom.
The upper storey also includes additional storage at one end that’s only accessible through the generously sized garage and workshop.

Net Positive is our new take on Net Zero. Our new model home is so energy efficient, the solar installation we have in place is producing more energy than the home needs. This larger family home has its own solar installation and is also Net Zero, making it supremely sustainable.
