Video walkthrough of an EkoBuilt home

EkoBuilt’s Mikhail Laxton meets with Jen Stewart who built her dream Passive House in the woods of Wakefield, Quebec just feet from the beautiful Gatineau River.

Jen took an existing model from EkoBuilt and added her own designs to bring out the warmth and coziness that reflects her intended way of life, and this resulted in our Wakefield plan.

The home is just a smidge over 1,200 sq ft, but is full of smart spaces. One full bathroom, a galley-style kitchen at one end of the main living area and compact bedrooms take up most of the space, and left room for a staircase leading up to a second level “bonus space” that appealed to the home owners during the design process.

This bonus area was included to provide some extra sleeping space without the cost of a true second floor. Watch the video to get a feel for this great EkoBuilt home:

    • Thanks for the great feedback! If you go to our house plans page, we share 2022 cost analysis documents for each of our floorplans. The Wakefield is actually one of only a few where we haven’t yet prepared an updated version. If you download the one for the Fiddlehead 2 (next to it on the same page), that will be close. I’ll see about posting the Wakefield cost analysis shortly!
